A little over forty years ago, Hawaii's masons and workers in related building trades organized into two local unions. From the very beginning, they have worked closely together. Today, Local 1 and Local 630 represent masons, bricklayers, plasterers, cement finishers, tile installers, rock wall setters and caulkers. The unions share a home, a history, new challenges in the present and renewed hope for the future.

Gain Self Esteem

Hawaii's Masons Training Program, affiliated with community colleges throughout the islands, involves more than learning to lay brick, work with plaster and finish cement. The apporectices gain confidence, self-esteem and pride in their craft.
